YouTube Video Money Calculator

Estimate what one video earned from ads. Paste a link to load its views (or type them in), then set the CPM and the share of views that show ads. The calculator shows estimated ad impressions, gross ad revenue and the creator's 55% share.

How to use the video money calculator

  1. 1Paste a video link and press Load views, or enter views yourself.
  2. 2Set the CPM and monetized playback rate.
  3. 3Read the estimated earnings.

How it works

Creator earnings = views × monetized playback % × ads per view ÷ 1,000 × CPM × 55%. CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions and varies widely by niche, country and season. Monetized playback rate is the share of views where at least one ad played — often 40–60%.

Frequently asked questions

What CPM should I use?

Many channels see $2–$10 CPM, with finance, business and tech higher. Your real CPM is in YouTube Studio analytics.

Why not just use RPM?

If you know your RPM, use the main Money Calculator. This one helps when you want to model CPM and ad fill separately.
