How to use the subscriber counter

How it works

The counter polls the official YouTube Data API. Because YouTube publishes subscriber counts rounded to three significant figures, the number changes in steps (for example from 1.23M to 1.24M). Tools that show every single subscriber for large channels are estimating, not reading real data — we show only what YouTube publishes.

Why doesn't the number change every second?

YouTube's public count is rounded, so it only updates when the rounded value changes.

Is this real time?

It's as close to real time as the public data allows: refreshed every minute from the official API.
