YouTube Upload Date Finder

YouTube shows dates like “3 years ago” or a calendar date without a time. This tool gives you the exact publish timestamp to the second, converted to your local time zone and to UTC, plus the precise age of the video.

Journalists and researchers use it to establish timelines, and creators use it to check whether publish time affects performance.

How to use the upload date finder

  1. 1Paste a video or Shorts link.
  2. 2Press Find upload date.
  3. 3See the timestamp in your time zone, UTC and as an age.

How it works

The publishedAt value comes from the YouTube Data API. For videos that were uploaded privately and made public later, this is generally the date it went public (or scheduled publish time), not the date the file was uploaded. For live streams, the actual start and end times are shown too.

Frequently asked questions

Is the publish date the same as the upload date?

Not always. If a video was uploaded as private or scheduled, the public date is usually when it was published, which can be later than the upload.

What time zone is used?

Your browser's time zone, with UTC shown alongside.
