YouTube Dislike Checker

YouTube stopped showing public dislike counts in November 2021 and removed them from the API in December 2021. This tool shows an estimate from the open-source Return YouTube Dislike project, which combines dislike data archived before the change with votes from its browser-extension users.

Treat the number as an estimate, not an official count — but the like/dislike ratio is still a useful signal of how a video was received.

How to use the dislike checker

  1. 1Paste the video link.
  2. 2Press Check dislikes.
  3. 3See estimated dislikes, the like ratio and a rating out of 5.

How it works

We request the estimate from the Return YouTube Dislike API and pair it with the current like count from the YouTube Data API. Like ratio = likes ÷ (likes + dislikes). Data is cached for an hour.

Frequently asked questions

Are these the real dislike numbers?

No one outside YouTube has the real numbers anymore. These are estimates from the Return YouTube Dislike project.

Can creators still see their dislikes?

Yes. Creators can still see exact dislikes in YouTube Studio.

Why is the estimate zero for new videos?

Estimates for newer videos depend on extension users voting, so small or new videos may have little data.
