YouTube Shadowban Checker

If a video suddenly stops getting search views, creators often suspect a “shadowban”. YouTube says it doesn't shadowban, but videos can have limited visibility for real reasons: age restriction, made-for-kids settings, region blocks, or simply not ranking for their own title.

This tool runs a practical test: it searches YouTube for the video's exact title and checks whether the video shows up in the top 50, then lists every other visibility limit it can find.

How to use the shadowban checker

  1. 1Paste the video link.
  2. 2Press Check visibility.
  3. 3Review the search test and the restriction list.

How it works

The exact-title search uses the official YouTube Data API search endpoint, which returns neutral, non-personalised results. Not appearing is a warning sign, not proof of a penalty — a very generic title can be outranked by bigger channels. Results are cached for 6 hours.

Frequently asked questions

Does YouTube shadowban channels?

YouTube says no. But content can be limited — for example age-restricted videos don't appear for signed-out viewers, and some topics get limited recommendations.

My video doesn't show up for its title. What should I do?

Check Studio for copyright claims or policy notices, make sure the title is specific, and give new uploads a few hours to be indexed.
