YouTube BPM Finder

Need the tempo of a song on YouTube? Play the video here and tap along to the beat — the tool works out the BPM from your taps. It also checks the video's title and description, since many producers list the BPM there.

How to use the bpm finder

  1. 1Paste a video link and press Load.
  2. 2Play the video and tap the button (or press the spacebar) on each beat.
  3. 3After 8–10 taps the BPM settles; press Reset to start again.

How it works

BPM = 60,000 ÷ the median time between your taps (in milliseconds). Using the median of your last 16 taps means one early or late tap doesn't throw the result off. If a BPM is written in the title or description (for example “140 BPM”), it's shown too.

Frequently asked questions

My result is double or half the real tempo.

That means you tapped every other beat or twice per beat. Halve or double the result — the tool shows both.

Can you detect BPM from the audio automatically?

YouTube doesn't allow downloading the audio for analysis, so tap tempo is the reliable, permitted way.
